EBSU Post UTME Form Is Still Open: What Every Candidate Must Know Before Applying

EBSU Post UTME Form Is Still Open: What Every Aspirant Must Know Before Applying For many students, gaining admission into Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, is more than just entering a school. It is the beginning of a new journey. It is the dream of becoming a university student, wearing that department identity with pride, attending lectures, meeting new friends, and finally starting the course you have always wanted. But as simple as admission may look from outside, one small mistake can make a candidate lose the opportunity. That is why every EBSU aspirant must pay serious attention now. Ebonyi State University has commenced the sale of its Post UTME form for candidates who want to gain admission into the university. The form is still open after the extension, and students who are interested in gaining admission into EBSU are advised to go ahead and complete their registration as soon as possible. This is not the time to wait until the last minute. This is not the time to say, “I will do it later.” Admission processes can be very fast, and sometimes, the people who miss out are not those who are not qualified, but those who delayed or failed to do the right thing at the right time. If you want to study in EBSU, this is the time to take action. Make Sure EBSU Is Your First Choice One of the most important things every candidate must confirm before applying for the EBSU Post UTME form is their institution choice. Ebonyi State University must be your first choice institution. This is very important because schools usually give admission consideration to candidates who selected them as first choice. If you did not choose EBSU as your first choice during JAMB registration, you should go and do a change of institution and make EBSU your first choice before expecting admission from the school. Some students make this mistake every year. They buy the Post UTME form, relax, and later discover that EBSU is not showing as their first choice on JAMB CAPS. By that time, they may start rushing around, looking for how to correct it. Do not wait for that kind of situation. Before you continue with the registration, ask yourself these questions: Is EBSU my first choice on JAMB? Has my change of institution reflected? Is the course on my JAMB profile the same course I want to apply for? Is my JAMB registration number correct? If you are not sure, confirm it first. Admission is not something to handle carelessly. Do Not Pick a Course Just Because You Like the Name Another big mistake many candidates make is choosing a course without checking whether they are qualified for it. It is good to have a dream course. It is good to want Medicine, Nursing, Law, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Medical Laboratory Science, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, or any other course. But before choosing any course, you must first ask yourself one serious question: Do I have the correct subject combination for this course? This is where many candidates lose admission without knowing. A candidate may score well in JAMB but still have problems because the subjects used in JAMB do not match the course they want to study. Another candidate may have a good O’Level result but may not have the required subjects for the course. Some may even apply for a course without checking the departmental cut-off mark. Admission is not only about wanting a course. You must also meet the requirements for that course. Why Subject Combination Is Very Important Every course has its own subject requirements. What works for one course may not work for another course. For example, the subject combination for a medical course is not the same as the subject combination for a social science course. The subjects needed for Law are not the same as the subjects needed for Computer Science. The requirements for Nursing may not be the same as the requirements for Mass Communication. This is why candidates should not just follow what their friends are doing. Your friend may be applying for a different course. Your friend may have a different JAMB subject combination. Your friend may have a different O’Level result. So copying another person without checking your own details can put you in trouble. Before choosing a course, make sure you confirm: The correct JAMB subject combination for the course The correct O’Level subjects required The minimum JAMB score needed The departmental cut-off mark Whether your result is accepted for that course Whether the course is very competitive This may look like too much work, but it is better to check everything now than to lose admission later because of a mistake that could have been avoided. Your JAMB Score Alone Is Not Enough Many students believe that once they score above the general cut-off mark, admission is automatic. That is not always true. Your JAMB score is important, but it is not the only thing that matters. Your first choice matters. Your course choice matters. Your subject combination matters. Your O’Level result matters. Your departmental cut-off mark matters. Your Post UTME registration matters. Your details on JAMB CAPS matter. Everything works together. That is why a candidate can score high and still have issues if the wrong course was selected, if the wrong subject combination was used, or if the candidate failed to complete the school screening registration. So, as an EBSU aspirant, do not just focus on your JAMB score alone. Make sure every other detail is correct. Do Not Wait Until the Portal Closes Since the EBSU Post UTME form is still open after the extension, candidates should take advantage of this opportunity and register immediately. Extensions do not last forever. Many students relax when they hear that a deadline has been extended. They start feeling there is still time. But that mindset can be dangerous. Before you know it, the new deadline will come, and some students will still be unprepared. There may be network issues. There may be payment issues. There may be portal issues. There may be mistakes in your details. There may be a need for correction. This is why it is better to register early. When you register early, you still have time to check your details and correct any mistake before it becomes too late. Be Careful With Your Details During Registration When filling the EBSU Post UTME form, do not rush. Make sure your name is correctly written. Make sure your JAMB registration number is correct. Make sure your phone number and email address are active. Make sure your course, faculty, date of birth, state, local government, and O’Level details are correct. If someone is helping you with the registration, do not just give them your details and leave. Stay there and confirm everything before submission. Many admission problems start from simple mistakes. A wrong JAMB registration number can cause issues. A wrong course can cause issues. A wrong O’Level grade can cause issues. A wrong subject can cause issues. A wrong phone number or email can make you miss important updates. So before submitting, check everything again. Choose a Course That Matches Your Qualification There is nothing wrong with aiming high, but candidates must also be realistic. Some courses are very competitive. If your score is not strong enough for a highly competitive course, or if your subject combination does not match the course, it may be better to consider another course where you have a better chance. This does not mean you are not intelligent. It simply means you are making a wise admission decision. The goal is not just to pick a big course. The goal is to gain admission into a course you are qualified for and can successfully study. A smart candidate does not only ask, “What course do I like?” A smart candidate also asks, “Do I meet the requirements for this course?” That one question can save you from admission disappointment. What Every EBSU Aspirant Should Do Now If you are planning to gain admission into Ebonyi State University, here are the important things you should do now: Confirm that EBSU is your first choice institution. If EBSU is not your first choice, visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre and do a change of institution. Confirm your course choice. Check the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. Check your O’Level result and make sure it matches the course you want to study. Check your departmental cut-off mark. Complete your EBSU Post UTME registration while the form is still open. Make sure all your details are correct before final submission. Keep checking for official admission updates. Final Advice The EBSU Post UTME form is still open, and this is a good opportunity for candidates who have not yet registered to do so. But do not just buy the form blindly. Before you apply, make sure Ebonyi State University is your first choice. Make sure your course matches your subject combination. Make sure your O’Level result is suitable for the course. Make sure your details are correct. Admission is not something to gamble with. Many students lose admission every year not because they are not qualified, but because they made small mistakes and ignored important instructions. Do not be among them. If you truly want to gain admission into EBSU, this is the time to act. Check your details, confirm your course, complete your registration, and avoid unnecessary mistakes. The form is still open, but it will not remain open forever.

Title: Csc 213 Past Questions and Answers URL: https://studentsdash.com/csc-213-past-questions-and-answers/ -------------------------------------------------- In this Article we will be dropping the CSC 213 Past Questions and a the Answers, Access then Below. if you didn’t see the complete answers use the WhatsApp button to contact our admins. Csc 213 Solutions 1: Here’s a brief explanation of sequential programming and concurrent programming, as well as two advantages and disadvantages of each: Sequential Programming: Sequential programming is a programming paradigm where the instructions are executed in a sequential order, one after the other. The program executes one instruction at a time, and the next instruction cannot start until the previous instruction has finished executing. Advantages of Sequential Programming: Easier to write and debug: Sequential programs are easier to write and debug because the programmer only needs to think about one instruction at a time. Predictable: The behavior of sequential programs is predictable because the instructions are executed in a fixed order. Disadvantages of Sequential Programming: Limited performance: Sequential programs are limited in performance because they cannot take advantage of multiple processors or cores. Limited scalability: Sequential programs are limited in scalability because they cannot be easily parallelized to run on multiple processors or cores. Concurrent Programming: Concurrent programming is a programming paradigm where multiple tasks are executed simultaneously. The tasks can be executed on a single processor or on multiple processors or cores. Advantages of Concurrent Programming: Improved performance: Concurrent programs can take advantage of multiple processors or cores, which can lead to improved performance. Improved scalability: Concurrent programs can be easily parallelized to run on multiple processors or cores, which can lead to improved scalability. Disadvantages of Concurrent Programming: Difficult to write and debug: Concurrent programs are more difficult to write and debug because the programmer needs to think about multiple tasks executing simultaneously. Non-deterministic: The behavior of concurrent programs is non-deterministic because the order in which tasks are executed is not fixed. This can lead to race conditions and other synchronization issues. B explanation of sequential and random file organization: Sequential File Organization: In sequential file organization, records are stored in a sequential order, one after the other. The records are accessed in the order in which they are stored. To access a record, all the records before it must be read first. Random File Organization: In random file organization, records are stored in a non-sequential order. Each record is assigned a unique address, which is used to access the record directly. Here are some differences between sequential and random file organization: Access Time: In sequential file organization, access time is slower because the records are accessed in a fixed order. In random file organization, access time is faster because the records can be accessed directly using their unique address. Insertion and Deletion: In sequential file organization, insertion and deletion of records is difficult because it requires shifting all the records after the insertion or deletion point. In random file organization, insertion and deletion of records is easier because the records are not stored in a fixed order. Storage Space: In sequential file organization, storage space is used more efficiently because there is no need to store the address of each record. In random file organization, storage space is used less efficiently because each record must be assigned a unique address. Record Retrieval: In sequential file organization, record retrieval is slower because all the records before the desired record must be read first. In random file organization, record retrieval is faster because the desired record can be accessed directly. 1C Here are the types of transaction failure: System Failure: System failure occurs when the system crashes or malfunctions during a transaction. This type of failure can cause data loss or corruption, and can lead to the failure of the entire system. Media Failure: Media failure occurs when the storage media used to store transaction data fails. This can be due to physical damage to the storage media, or due to logical errors in the file system. Application Failure: Application failure occurs when the application used to process the transaction fails. This can be due to bugs in the application code, or due to external factors such as network issues. Transaction Failure: Transaction failure occurs when the transaction itself fails to complete successfully. This can be due to a variety of reasons, such as a violation of a database constraint or a deadlock. Communication Failure: Communication failure occurs when there is a breakdown in communication between different components of the system. This can be due to network issues or hardware failure. User Error: User error occurs when the user makes a mistake while entering data or performing an action. This can lead to incorrect or invalid data being entered into the system, which can cause transaction failure. 2A 2a) Here are four factors that determine the storage device hierarchy: Speed: The speed of a storage device is a key factor in determining its place in the storage hierarchy. Faster devices like cache memory and RAM are used for storing data that needs to be accessed quickly, while slower devices like hard drives and tape drives are used for storing data that is accessed less frequently. Cost: The cost of a storage device is another important factor in determining its place in the storage hierarchy. Faster devices like cache memory and RAM are more expensive than slower devices like hard drives and tape drives. Capacity: The capacity of a storage device is also an important consideration. Devices with larger capacities like hard drives and tape drives are used for storing large amounts of data, while devices with smaller capacities like cache memory and RAM are used for storing smaller amounts of data. Durability: The durability of a storage device is also an important factor. Devices that are more durable like hard drives and tape drives are used for storing data that needs to be kept for a long time, while devices that are less durable like cache memory and RAM are used for storing data that is accessed frequently but doesn’t need to be kept for a long time. 2b) Here are the sizes of the word document in different units: i. Bits: To calculate the size of the word document in bits, we need to multiply the number of characters by the number of bits per character. Assuming each character takes 8 bits, the size of the word document in bits would be 536 bits (67 characters x 8 bits per character). ii. Bytes: To calculate the size of the word document in bytes, we need to divide the size in bits by 8. The size of the word document in bytes would be 67 bytes (536 bits / 8 bits per byte). iii. Kilobytes: To calculate the size of the word document in kilobytes, we need to divide the size in bytes by 1024. The size of the word document in kilobytes would be 0.0654296875 KB (67 bytes / 1024 bytes per KB). iv. Megabytes: To calculate the size of the word document in megabytes, we need to divide the size in bytes by 1,048,576. The size of the word document in megabytes would be 0.000064 MB (67 bytes / 1,048,576 bytes per MB). 2c Mutability and Addressability are two characteristics of storage memory. Mutability refers to the ability of a storage memory to be changed or modified. A mutable memory can be written to and read from, and its contents can be modified. Examples of mutable storage memory include RAM and cache memory. Addressability, on the other hand, refers to the ability to access specific locations within a storage memory. An addressable memory can be accessed by specifying its address, which is a unique identifier for each location within the memory. Examples of addressable storage memory include hard disk drives and solid-state drives. 2d. i. COPY C:\ M??? * A:YOU is a command used to copy all files that have a name starting with “M” and have any three characters in the middle, from the root directory of the C drive to a directory named “YOU” on the A drive. ii. CD C:\F\ is a command used to change the current directory to the “F” subdirectory of the root directory of the C drive. 3a i. EPROM: Strengths: Non-volatile: The data stored in an EPROM chip is retained even when the power is turned off. High reliability: EPROM chips are highly reliable and can be used for a long time. Weaknesses: Limited write cycles: EPROM chips have a limited number of write cycles, after which they become unusable. Slow write times: EPROM chips have slow write times, which can be a disadvantage in applications where fast write times are required. ii. EAROM: Strengths: Non-volatile: EAROM chips are non-volatile, which means that the data stored in them is retained even when the power is turned off. Low power consumption: EAROM chips have low power consumption, making them ideal for use in battery-operated devices. Weaknesses: Limited write cycles: EAROM chips have a limited number of write cycles, after which they become unusable. Slow write times: EAROM chips have slow write times, which can be a disadvantage in applications where fast write times are required. iii. HPFS: Strengths: Efficient use of disk space: HPFS uses disk space more efficiently than other file systems, which means that more data can be stored on a disk. Improved performance: HPFS provides improved performance over other file systems, especially when dealing with large files. Weaknesses: Limited compatibility: HPFS is only compatible with certain operating systems, which can be a disadvantage in environments where multiple operating systems are used. Limited support: HPFS is an older file system and is no longer widely used, which means that support for it may be limited. 3b. The two activities involved in file maintenance are: File backup: This involves creating a copy of a file or set of files in case the original is lost, damaged, or corrupted. File backup can be done manually or automatically, and can be stored on an external device, such as a hard drive or cloud storage. File deletion: This involves removing unwanted files from a storage device to free up space. File deletion can be done manually or automatically, and can be permanent or temporary. 3c. Holographic data storage and Molecular Memory are two different types of data storage technologies. Holographic data storage uses holographic techniques to store data in three dimensions. This technology uses a laser to create interference patterns that are recorded in a light-sensitive material. The data is stored as a series of holograms, which can be read using a laser beam. Holographic data storage has the potential to store large amounts of data in a small space, but it is still in the experimental stage. Molecular Memory, on the other hand, is a type of non-volatile memory that uses molecules to store data. This technology uses a layer of organic molecules that can be switched between two states to represent binary data. Molecular Memory has the potential to be faster and more energy-efficient than other types of memory, but it is still in the experimental stage. 3d. i. TYPE CA\ ME. is a command used to display the contents of a file named “ME” in the root directory of the C drive. ii. DIR C: * YOU\W is a command used to display a list of all files and directories on the C drive that have names starting with any character, followed by “YOU”, and ending with “W”. 4a. The four categories of computer attack are: Malware: Malware is a type of software that is designed to harm or exploit computers or computer systems. Malware includes viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and ransomware. Phishing: Phishing is a type of social engineering attack that uses email or other forms of communication to trick people into giving up sensitive information, such as passwords or credit card numbers. Denial-of-service (DoS) attacks: DoS attacks are designed to overwhelm a computer or network with traffic, making it impossible for legitimate users to access the system. Man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks: MITM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts communication between two parties, allowing them to eavesdrop on the conversation or even manipulate the data being transmitted. 4b. The four malicious programs are: Virus: A virus is a type of malware that spreads by infecting other files or programs. Once a virus infects a computer, it can cause damage to the system, steal data, or spread to other computers. Worm: A worm is a type of malware that spreads by replicating itself across networks and systems. Worms can cause damage to systems, slow down networks, and steal data. Trojan horse: A Trojan horse is a type of malware that is disguised as legitimate software. Once a Trojan horse is installed on a computer, it can allow attackers to gain access to the system, steal data, or cause damage to the system. Ransomware: Ransomware is a type of malware that encrypts files on a computer, making them inaccessible to the user. Attackers then demand payment in exchange for the decryption key. 4c. The three techniques that authentication as a security measure can be based on are: Something you know: This technique involves asking the user to provide a password or answer to a security question that only they should know. Something you have: This technique involves using a physical token, such as a smart card or USB key, to authenticate the user. Something you are: This technique involves using biometric data, such as a fingerprint or iris scan, to authenticate the user. 4d. i. DEL C:\ A???.* is a command used to delete all files in the root directory of the C drive that have names starting with “A”, followed by any three characters, and ending with any file extension. ii. GET 101 _ FEG 303 Past Questions and Answers

Title: GET 101 / FEG 303 Past Questions and Answers URL: https://studentsdash.com/get-101-feg-303-past-questions-and-answers/ -------------------------------------------------- 2023 Paper Solutions Question Number 1 (a) Outline the historical development of engineering and technology. Engineering and technology started from the early days when humans used stones and sticks to make tools for hunting and farming. This was called the Stone Age. Later, during the Bronze Age, people started using metals like bronze to make better tools and weapons. Then came the Iron Age, where iron was used to build stronger tools, which improved farming and construction. As time went on, the Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries changed everything. Machines were built, and industries like textile, mining, and transport grew fast. Steam engines, electricity, and railways were all major engineering achievements. In the 20th century, engineering became more advanced with the invention of cars, airplanes, computers, and mobile phones. Now, we are in the digital age, where engineers are using artificial intelligence, robotics, and modern software to solve problems and improve life. So, engineering has moved from using simple tools to building complex machines and systems that shape our modern world. (b) Discuss on the ten roles of engineer in society in general. Problem Solvers – Engineers find solutions to technical and social problems. Designers – They design buildings, roads, machines, and other structures. Innovators – Engineers develop new ideas and technologies to improve life. Planners – They plan how projects like bridges or factories will be built. Builders – Engineers supervise the construction of projects. Maintainers – They help maintain machines, roads, and infrastructure. Economy Boosters – Engineering projects create jobs and support economic growth. Safety Officers – They ensure that structures are safe for use by people. Environmental Protectors – Engineers work on clean energy and waste management. Educators and Researchers – Some engineers teach or research new technologies. Question Number 2 (a) Science, Technology and Engineering are erroneously taken to be the same. Criticize the above stated statement. Science, technology, and engineering are related, but they are not the same. Science is about discovering knowledge and understanding how nature works. Scientists ask questions and carry out experiments to find out the truth. For example, studying how gravity works or how plants grow is science. Technology is the practical use of scientific knowledge. It involves creating tools or machines to solve problems. For example, using scientific knowledge to build a mobile phone or computer is technology. Engineering is the process of designing, building, and maintaining structures, machines, and systems using both science and technology. Engineers take scientific knowledge and turn it into useful products or systems. So, even though they are connected, science discovers, technology applies, and engineering builds. People confuse them because they often work together, but they are different in purpose and process. (b) In engineering family, write briefly on the cadres in the profession. In the engineering profession, there are different levels or cadres . These include: 1. Technician – They handle basic technical tasks like maintenance and support under the supervision of engineers. 2. Technologist – They have more advanced training than technicians and assist engineers in designs, tests, and projects. 3. Graduate Engineer – This is someone who just completed a degree in engineering and is gaining experience. 4. Corporate Engineer – These are experienced engineers who are fully registered with professional bodies like COREN in Nigeria. 5. Senior Engineer – They supervise junior engineers and lead projects. 6. Chief Engineer/Director – They are in top positions, making decisions and overseeing large engineering operations. Each cadre plays an important role in making engineering projects successful. Question Number 3 (a) Outline the historical development of engineering discipline. The engineering discipline developed over a long time. It began in ancient times when early humans used stones, wood, and bones to create tools for survival. As people started building houses and roads, they used simple engineering ideas without knowing it. In ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, engineers built big structures like pyramids and irrigation systems. Later, the Romans improved engineering by building roads, bridges, and aqueducts. During the Middle Ages, engineering was mostly used for building castles and war machines. In the Renaissance period, engineering became more scientific, with people like Leonardo da Vinci designing machines. The Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries changed everything. New machines, factories, and steam engines were built. This led to the creation of different branches like mechanical and civil engineering. In the 20th century, new fields like electrical, computer, and chemical engineering developed. Today, engineering keeps growing with modern fields like software engineering, robotics, and bioengineering. (b) State five area of specialization of the following: i. Agricultural Engineering Farm machinery and mechanization Soil and water engineering Irrigation and drainage systems Food processing and storage Agricultural structures ii. Civil Engineering Structural engineering Transportation engineering Geotechnical engineering Water resources engineering Environmental engineering iii. Mechanical Engineering Thermodynamics Fluid mechanics Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) Machine design Manufacturing and production engineering Question Number 4 (a) What do you understand by the term feasibility studies? Feasibility studies are investigations or checks carried out before starting an engineering project to know if the project is possible, realistic, and worth doing. It helps to find out if the project can be completed successfully based on cost, time, location, resources, and other important factors. The main purpose is to reduce risk and make better decisions before spending a lot of money or time on the project. If a project is not feasible, it may be canceled or changed. (b) List five major contents which a typical feasibility study report for the establishment of an engineering project should contain. Technical Feasibility – Checks if the project can be done with the available technology, tools, and skills. Economic/Financial Feasibility – Looks at the cost of the project and if it will be profitable or affordable. Legal Feasibility – Ensures the project follows government laws, building codes, and safety rules. Environmental Feasibility – Studies the effect of the project on the environment (e.g., pollution or land use). Operational Feasibility – Checks if the project Question Number 5 (a) Describe the three main components of environment. The three main components of the environment are: 1. Biotic (Living) Components – These include all living things like humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms. 2. Abiotic (Non-living) Components – These are non-living things like air, water, soil, sunlight, and temperature. 3. Cultural or Human-made Components – These are things made by humans like buildings, roads, vehicles, and industries. All these components work together to support life and shape the world we live in. (b) Write briefly on the following: Air Pollution: This happens when harmful gases, smoke, or dust are released into the air, making it unsafe to breathe. It is caused by things like car fumes, factory smoke, and burning of waste. Water Pollution: It is the contamination of water bodies like rivers, lakes, and oceans. It is caused by dumping of waste, oil spills, or chemicals into the water, which makes it harmful for drinking, farming, or aquatic life. Soil Pollution: This occurs when harmful substances like chemicals, plastics, or waste are dumped on the land. It reduces soil fertility and can affect plants, animals, and humans. (c) Write briefly on the three types of erosion. 1. Sheet Erosion: This is when a thin layer of topsoil is removed evenly from the land surface by rainwater. 2. Rill Erosion: This happens when small channels or rills are formed on the soil surface by running water. 3. Gully Erosion: This is the most serious type. It occurs when water cuts deep and wide channels (gullies) into the soil, damaging land and roads.
