UNIBEN Admission Screening: Application Guide, Date & Requirements

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session. The application portal opens on 16th August 2024 and will officially close by midnight on 10th October 2024.

However, candidates must note that the closing date for eligible UTME candidates (who scored 200 and above) to apply is 15th September 2024. Screening reprint slips will be available for download from Thursday, 3rd October 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have chosen UNIBEN as First Choice in the 2024 UTME.
  • Scored at least 200 in the UTME.
  • Possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE, NECO, GCE O/L, or equivalent, including English and relevant subjects (Mathematics where required), in not more than two sittings.
  • Awaiting results candidates are eligible to apply.

Screening Schedule

The admission screening will be held from 7th to 12th October 2024 at designated CBT centers within UNIBEN’s Ugbowo Campus. Candidates must be seated at least one hour before their allotted time.

Method of Application

First-time applicants should follow the steps below:

  • Ensure a valid email account is active before starting.
  • Visit www.uniben.edu and click on “Student Portal”, then select “WAEUP PORTAL.”
  • Click on “Applicants” and then “UNIBEN ADMISSION SCREENING 2024/2025.”
  • Select “Register for application” and enter your JAMB Registration Number and Surname exactly as written on your JAMB slip.
  • Your unique ID and password will be displayed. Return to waeup.uniben.edu and log in.
  • Click on “Application record” and complete the required fields.
  • Click “Add online payment ticket”, then “Pay with Remita” and follow instructions to pay the N2,000 screening fee using a valid ATM-enabled card.
  • Preview all information before submitting. No corrections after the deadline.

Important Notes

  • GSM phones and calculators are not allowed during the screening.
  • All candidates must come with their reprinted screening invitation slip containing the exact schedule.
